Miriam's Poems 🫶🏼

December 2017 was when I finally had enough. I never thought that this was going to be so rough. Enough with the fights, drama, procrastination, bullshit, and especially with the lies. Enough with always being the drama queen and bad person in everyone else’s eyes. Walking into City of Angels was scary, but in life you have to do what is best for you and what is necessary. I’m not going to lie all the homework and the way things were done at City of Angels were pretty difficult. The positive thing about all this was that drama and distractions were far away and very minimal. My main support system was my two best friends, the beautiful Ms. Quintero and Ms. Hinda Joy Laury. The amazing thing about them was that they always made us their main priority. Laura Garibay was the person in charge of the parent center who became really good friends not only just with me but also to my mother. Everyone is very supportive and they always encouraged us to strive for success all together. City of Angels was always full of positivity, it was as if everyone was living free. Before City of Angels I was full of hatred and anger, and as time passed I became stronger. I found myself, and I realized that I always tried to be someone else. I learned a lot, and I started to appreciate everything that I got. I will never forget my accomplishments and the people that helped me succeed. One thing my teacher always told me was “life is life” and yes Ms. Laury, life is life indeed. Not only did I learn from a lot of my mistakes but I grew as a person. I put in the work and I started to work with purpose. City of Angels High School was one of the best decisions I made, and for once I wasn’t afraid. So now I want to thank Ms. Laury, Ms. Quintero, Laura Garibay, and Ms. Benson for always supporting me while I struggled through my tough journey. Thank you for placing your life on the line for me. Much love for all of you, I hope to see you guys soon. I am forever grateful. Damn …. honestly thinking back to those fun days how the hell did you guys deal with me ? Especially you Ms. Laury cause fuck I’m a handful.
